Baptist Union City still walking strong to beat cancer

The 16th annual Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope was held Saturday, June 4.

The 2016 walk focused on music as its theme. Held at the Union City High School, the even brought together 70 sponsors, 27 teams, and 850 walkers.

Over $210,000 was raised for the Obion County Cancer Agency, which helps cancer patients in Obion County. Baptist Union City colleagues raised $10,620.16 this year. In addition, the Baptist Union City donated another $2,000.

Since the inception of the Hometown Walk of Hope 16 years ago, the community has raised over $2.4 million.
