June 1 kicks off Above and Beyond Campaign
Every year, Baptist team members like you open their wallets and make a big impression on the world with their constant generosity shown during Baptist’s annual employee giving campaign, Above and Beyond. Each year, Baptist team members donate nearly $500,000 to the Baptist Foundation, the fundraising arm of Baptist Memorial Health Care.
June 1 marks the start of the summer giving season, and it’s time to consider where your heart lives. Absolutely 100 percent of each donation goes to your chosen fund. Foundation funds help in many ways.
- Baptist team members affected by the 2015 Mississippi tornadoes depended on the Foundation’s Employee Emergency Assistance Fund to help put their lives back together. In the past year alone, the fund has given $56,000 to Baptist team members in need.
- The Baptist Reynolds Hospice House has served more than 1,375 patients since opening in 2010, and a significant number of those patients did not have the means to pay for their care.
- Camp Good Grief provides comprehensive grief counseling services to 65 children a year who have recently lost a loved one. Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief staff has provided 21,000 free grief counseling visits since its establishment in 2010.
- Community resources like the Baptist Memory Care Center and the Universal Parenting Place were established with Baptist Foundation funding.
- The new TeleGuardian initiative, which blends medicine with technology, connects bedside care teams with specially trained critical care specialists who continually monitor critically ill patients from a centralized location. This will benefit all hospitals in the Baptist system.
- A customized ambulance to transport critically ill children from Baptist regional hospitals to the the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital’s pediatric ED.
