Carrie Hardin, RN in the Women’s Pavilion Nursery at Baptist DeSoto
Carrie Hardin, RN in the Women’s Pavilion Nursery at Baptist DeSoto, cared for the Whitehorn family when the mother faced an emergency C-section at 35 weeks. Keeping in constant contact with the family, Carrie left a big impression.
“I could not see our baby for 24 hours after I had him. Carrie told me if I needed anything or had any questions she would give me all the information I needed and status updates on our baby. All I had to do was call her. I started to cry. She was so there for me and gave me the comfort I needed. I would like to say thank you to Carrie from the bottom of my heart for everything she did for me and for our baby for almost 2 weeks,” said the patient.

NEA Baptist Nurse Shannon Ellington Awarded DAISY
When Christi Partain was admitted to NEA Baptist Hospital with a knee infection, she met Shannon Ellington, an RN on 5 West who joined Baptist nearly one year ago. She found Shannon’s attentive care extended not only to Christi, but to her husband as well. “She noticed that he was very exhausted and worried. Her attitude put him at so much ease that he felt like he could go home to rest,” said Christi. When Christi found herself in pain, the extra care Shannon gave moved her to tears. “Thank You, Shannon Ellington! You are an amazing nurse, a God send and a good caregiver who is truly the definition of a great nurse.”
