Baptist Team Members Encouraged to Help ‘Strike Out Stroke’

Baptist team members have the opportunity to once again support stroke awareness by purchasing a ticket to the Memphis Redbirds’ Strike Out Stroke game on May 21.

“This is a trademark event that helps teach the community, particularly kids, about stroke prevention and what to do during a stroke,” said Julie Horn, neuro/stroke coordinator at Baptist Memphis.

Tickets to the game are $16, and $4 from every ticket sold will support the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation’s Neuroscience Fund.

Money from the fund supports a program designed to raise stroke awareness among Memphis-area fifth graders. To help teach kids about stroke, the program is bringing stroke survivors to schools and hosting a poster contest. Winning students get a ticket to the game and a Walmart gift card.

“The first place winner will throw the first pitch of the game,” said Julie.
