For as long as Baptist has been in existence, we have educated future health care professionals. As other health care organizations closed their schools, we have continued to invest in ours, adapting to health care’s ever-changing needs.
The Baptist Health Sciences University continues that tradition today as it expands its footprint. The College’s campus will soon get bigger when it moves into the building that used to house the Church Health Center’s fitness facility. (We own the building but have been leasing it to the Church Health Center for $1 a year for more than a decade.) That building will give the College more space to offer new majors, recruit additional students, offer interprofessional learning labs, free up space on the main campus to expand student housing, and more.
Baptist University is expanding in other ways, too. A $50,000 grant has allowed the College to strengthen its ability to offer adult learners credit for prior learning, enabling them to complete their degrees more quickly. The College is also offering more classes online, giving students the opportunity to earn degrees more conveniently. The RN-BSN program will be offered completely online as an option beginning this fall. Even more exciting developments are coming soon.
Nursing educational assistance is offered through the College’s tuition deferral program. For more information, visit www.bchs.edu or call 901-575-2247. You can also tweet the College @BCHSMemphis, or find it on Facebook or Instagram.
