An NEA Baptist Hospital team led by Mark Ward, director of plant operations, hosted an educational tour for a group of 29 students from the Arkansas State University College of Engineering on March 16. Joining the tour were instructors and Dr. Kwangkook (David) Jeong, Ph.D., P.E., dean of the department and associate professor of mechanical engineering at ASU. The tour was designed to give students a real-world informative view of a facility and build a new collaboration between the university and Baptist.
“We believe it was a very successful tour and the start of a good relationship in this area of expertise,” said Mark.
Following the tour, Dr. Jeong echoed Mark’s impression. “I was so impressed that all the staff were very knowledgeable and professional. I found this tour very informative, cost-efficient, and beneficial for all engineering majors. I hope to continue the educational collaboration.”
While NEA Baptist has hosted other student tours, this was the first time students from the College of Engineering visited the hospital.
