Mississippi Hospitals Welcome Leap Year Babies

A few families in North Mississippi grew by leaps and bounds during this Leap Year.

Babies arriving on Leap Day, Feb. 29, at Baptist Memorial hospitals in Mississippi received special gifts to commemorate their birth.

At Baptist North Mississippi, four Leap Year babies were born on Feb. 29, 2016. The labor and delivery team gave each baby a welcome gift donated by the hospital. The new arrivals included:

Baby boy Mason Thomas Edwards was born at 5:40 pm to parents Josh and Angel Edwards of Oxford. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

Baby girl Baylor Layne Hall was born at 11:54 pm to parents Dylan and Leslie Hall of Batesville. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

Baby girl Greyce Elizabeth Harris was born at 10:50 pm to parents Sarah Harris and Cody Howard of Oxford. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Further south at Baptist Golden Triangle, the Baptist team welcomed Phoenix Nolan Andrews, the only baby to arrive on Leap Day. Born to Becky and Derrick Andrews of Columbus, Miss., Phoenix weighed 8 pounds and was 20.5 inches long. He received a special embroidered blanket from the hospital as a keepsake. He has a 5-year-old big sister, Julianna.

At Baptist DeSoto, everyone welcomed baby Josiah, the first baby born at the hospital on Leap Day. All the babies born that day also received green Baptist blankets.

Welcome again to all our Baptist Leap Year babies!
