Memphis-based Heart Doctors Visit Baptist Golden Triangle

Dr. John Craig, a Baptist Medical Group cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, and Dr. Jawwad Yusuf, a cardiologist with Stern Cardiovascular Foundation, updated Baptist Golden Triangle medical staff and their support teams about advances in heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support services available at Baptist Memphis.

The Feb. 16 meeting was of special interest to staff cardiologists and pulmonologists whose heart/lung patients sometimes have to rely on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), an external machine, to oxygenate their blood and/or support their hearts. Dr. Craig is the medical director of the ECMO program at Baptist Memphis.
