Baptist Tipton Appoints New Emergency Department Medical Director

David Conner, M.D., has been appointed medical director of emergency medicine at Baptist Tipton.

In his role, he will promote the effective delivery of emergency services at the hospital’s emergency department, which treats approximately 20,000 patients per year.

Dr. Conner graduated from Christian Brothers University in Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, he completed his residency in emergency medicine at Yale University.

“Dr. Conner has impressive credentials and a strong track record,” said Sam Lynd, CEO and administrator of Baptist Tipton. “Moreover, he is invested in the community and understands the hospital’s integral role in providing top-notch health care services and a positive experience for patients who visit our hospital.”

Stanley Thompson, M.D., regional medical director of TeamHealth emergency medicine, added to Lynd’s sentiments. “I have worked closely with Dr. Conner since his return to the Mid-South after completing his training. He is an impeccable physician, and coupled with his leadership skills, was the obvious choice to fill the medical director opening. I am extremely excited to see Dr. Conner in this role.”
