The American Heart Association recently recognized hospitals across the country that successfully participate in its health care quality programs. Baptist Memphis, Baptist DeSoto, Baptist North Mississippi and Baptist Golden Triangle were among the recognized hospitals.
Baptist Memphis and Baptist DeSoto were recognized for their stroke care. The hospitals earned “Silver Achievement” in the AHA’s Get with the Guidelines Stroke program for adhering to the AHA’s stroke achievement measures at least 85 percent of the time for 12 consecutive months. Baptist Memphis also earned “Honor Roll Elite” status in the AHA’s Target Stroke program for delivering treatment to stroke patients within 60 minutes at least 75 percent of the time for four consecutive quarters, in addition to earning at least Silver Achievement in the Get with the Guidelines Stroke program.
Baptist North Mississippi and Baptist Golden Triangle earned recognition for their heart care through the AHA’s Mission Lifeline program. Baptist Golden Triangle was named a “Gold Receiving” hospital for adhering to the AHA’s STEMI Receiving Center Performance Achievement indicators at least 85 percent of the time for 24 consecutive months and complying with each performance measure at least 75 percent of the time. Baptist North Mississippi earned “Silver Receiving” status for adhering to all STEMI Receiving Center Performance Achievement indicators at least 85 percent of the time for 12 consecutive months and complying with each performance measure at least 75 percent of the time.
