Team members give to Good Samaritan Center
Baptist Union County team members donated nearly $500 and 75 pounds of food to the Union County Good Samaritan Center in November and December. The Baptist HealthPlex also co-sponsored a Turkey Trot half-marathon and four-mile walk on Thanksgiving Day. The race raised $4,435 for the Good Samaritan Center. The event, coordinated by Baptist HealthPlex Director Heather Duley, had 260 participants.

The Good Samaritan Center has provided food and financial assistance for families in need for more than 27 years. Last year, the Good Samaritan Center served an average of 518 families or 1,274 individuals a month and distributed more than 313,000 pounds of food.

Tree of Love lighting ceremony
The Baptist Volunteer Auxiliary held its annual Tree of Love lighting ceremony, an annual fundraiser whose proceeds support patient projects within the hospital. Lights are purchased in honor or in memory of a loved one, and the tree is dedicated to an individual who has made a difference in the community or hospital. The 2015 Tree of Love was dedicated to Mike Staten, vice president of BNA Bank, for his extensive involvement with community organizations and programs.

The hospital also hosted its annual employee Christmas celebration.
