Five Baptist hospitals earn Joint Commission honor

The Joint Commission named five Baptist Memorial Hospitals – Baptist Huntingdon, Baptist Golden Triangle, Baptist Memphis, Baptist Union City and Baptist Union County – Top Performers on Key Quality Measures.

Only 31 percent of Joint Commission-accredited hospitals were named Top Performers, meaning they met performance criteria in at least six measure sets in 2014. In addition, each hospital was recognized for specific measure sets:

  • Baptist Huntingdon was recognized for venous thromboembolism and immunizations
  • Baptist Memphis was recognized for treating heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia, as well as for surgical care and perinatal care
  • Baptist Union City was recognized for treating heart failure and pneumonia, as well as for surgical care and immunizations
  • Baptist Golden Triangle was recognized for treating heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia, as well as for surgical care, stroke and immunizations
  • Baptist Union County was recognized for treating heart failure, pneumonia and stroke, as well as for surgical care and perinatal care

Baptist Union City has been a Top Performer every year the program has been in existence.
