Baptist’s Community Relations team is collecting donations for Operation Outreach mobile health care clinic patients, who are homeless. The team is collecting thermal sets, dark socks, hats, scarves, gloves, lotion and small blankets, which will be put in backpacks and given to patients during Baptist’s annual Tree of Faith, Hope and Love event. All items need to be unisex. Tree tags for departments are available in the Corporate Community Relations office on the first floor of the Corporate building. If you would like to make a donation:
- Please consider purchasing items on smile.amazon.com. 0.5 percent of your purchase will go to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, which supports the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund, Baptist Women’s Hospital’s NICU, The Baptist Reynolds Hospice House and Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief and other valuable services. All you need to do is go to smile.amazon.com, search for and choose “Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation” and shop at smile.amazon.com. (Please don’t shop while at work.) There’s no additional cost to you. Please do not send items from Amazon directly to the Corporate building.
- You can donate money so the Community Relations team can purchase items on your behalf. Donations can be sent or delivered to the Foundation office on the fifth floor of the Corporate building. Please denote that the donation is for Baptist Operation Outreach. You may also give your donations to Ann Marie Wallace in Community Relations if you want her to shop for you. Her phone number is 901-227-3512 or 901-491-3761. A set of thermals costs about $20, so please consider donating at least that much.
- Monetary donations are due by Friday Dec. 4. Clothing/toiletries donations are due by Monday, Dec. 14 but can be dropped off anytime at your facility in the chaplain’s office or at the Community Relations office.
