Baptist communications professionals earn awards for their work

Professional organizations in Mississippi and Tennessee recently recognized the work of several Baptist communications team members during awards ceremonies.

At the Mississippi Hospital Association’s Society for Health Care Marketing & Public Relations’ annual awards ceremony,

Baptist North Mississippi won an Award of Excellence in the “Newspaper Advertising-Ad Series Under $1,000” category for ads promoting its new Heartburn Treatment Center, and Baptist DeSoto won an Award of Excellence in the “Special Events-Community” category for its baby fair. Baptist’s Corporate Communications department created the ads for the Heartburn Treatment Center and ads, a radio script, a Facebook graphic, posters, banners and table tents to promote the baby fair.

Baptist Golden Triangle won two awards: an article on its cafeteria’s healthy menu earned an Award of Excellence in the “External Writing” category, and its Greater Living Menu rollout won a Maggie Award in the “Potpourri” category.

Baptist Golden Triangle also won four awards during the Southern Public Relations Federation’s Lantern Awards banquet for its advertising and public relations work. Its “Health Talk with Baptist” sponsorship won a Lantern Award, and its service line television commercials won a Certificate of Merit. Public relations efforts in support of its ambulance service being recognized by the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society’s annual Sweetheart Basket Give-Away fundraiser both won Certificates of Merit, as well.

Baptist’s Corporate Communications department earned two awards during the Public Relations Society of America-Memphis Chapter’s annual VOX awards ceremony. The team won a VOX award in the “Special Events One Day: Less than $7,500” category for the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital grand opening event, and a Gold Award in the “Media Tactics: Online Tactics: E-Newsletter” category for the Baptist Leader newsletter.
