No fewer than five Corporate building team members contributed to the Service First nomination of Jason Byrd, system II administrator for information technology client solutions, and their comments helped Jason become the entity’s first quarter Service First Champion.
The nomination, submitted by Vicki Harden Balash, director of information technology logistics and customer support; and Dabney Coors, information technology administrative secretary; praises Jason for going the extra mile every time he answers the call for help.
“Jason Byrd is absolutely awesome,” said Carol Bubnick, an organizational development consultant with the Baptist Center for Education and Organizational Development. “He is consistently patient and listens to understand your needs or problems within IT. Jason is definitely a servant leader!”
Jason also impresses co-workers with his skill and dedication when working on high-profile projects.
“While assisting me with the development of a Board project, Jason Byrd exhibited exceptional customer service and was very supportive of the needs of the executive staff,” said Mary Jo Suarez, executive assistant to Baptist President and CEO Jason Little. “He has been very accommodating, always displayed a positive attitude, and volunteered his personal time if needed to ensure everything worked properly.”
Information technology colleagues marvel at how Jason can do so much for people in so many different departments and locations.
“I honestly don’t understand how Jason Byrd can accomplish everything he does,” said Steve Conn, a software engineer in information technology’s business applications division. “If I didn’t know better, I’d swear he had been cloned. On any given day he will be in the Corporate boardroom making sure the Board meeting will go off without a hitch, on the fourth floor helping the OneCare team sort out issues with SharePoint, on the second floor troubleshooting and fixing the servers, and off the corporate campus assisting colleagues at our clinical facilities.”
Vicki and Dabney closed their nomination by noting that when anyone in the Corporate building needs help with information technology, Jason stays until either the equipment is working properly or the operators know how to use the equipment. Jason also is the “go-to IT guy” for Baptist President Emeritus Stephen Reynolds.
“Armed with a can-do attitude, knowledge, and endlessly selfless, Jason inspires us all to do more for others,” they wrote.
Jason was one of seven Corporate building team members nominated for Service First Champion. The other nominees were Kelly Craig, Ruth Griffin, Laura Ruth, Mike Smith, Beverly Taylor and Rebecca Wyrick.
