Improving Baptist’s password security

One of the practices associated with password security focuses on how frequently a password can be re-used, referred to as “password history.” Experts have recommended that Baptist adopt the practice of allowing passwords to be re-used only after having already used six unique passwords. This will be a small change, since this re-use setting is currently mostly set to across the organization. This change is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

As an example, if the password “Eye-10ve_2eatp@p3r” was used the first time logging on at Baptist, unique passwords would be required each of the next five times a person was prompted to change it before “Eye-10ve_2eatp@p3r” could be used again – as your seventh password.

Baptist is steadfastly committed to protecting our customers and their data, as well as our organization’s IT systems and community reputation, so thank you for adapting to this small change toward achieving these goals.
