Stroke survivor and former Baptist Memphis patient Lonnie Turner threw the first pitch at the Memphis Redbirds’ Strike Out Stroke game to help raise awareness of stroke, the fifth leading cause of death and the leading cause of disability in America.
Fifty-five people bought tickets to the game, and $4 per ticket was donated to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation’s Neuroscience Fund. The money will be used for events, education, equipment, and other activities that will promote and benefit Baptist’s neurosciences services.
