Shop for a Cause

Calling all shopaholics! Here is your chance to shop online and support Baptist hospice programs systemwide and the Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief all at the same time by logging on to www.baptistartofcaring.org. The website changes (almost) daily, so check back frequently and bid often. You don’t have to live in Memphis to shop; for a small donation, your items can be delivered right to your door. If you do live in Memphis and prefer to do your shopping in person, you can attend the 16th annual Art of Caring on Saturday, August 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the air-conditioned Teton Trek at the Memphis Zoo. Tickets are $40 per person. Parking is free and a shuttle will take you to the event site.

Besides many great art pieces, you can also purchase:

  • A one-week stay in a two-bedroom, two-bath condominium located in Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, home of Walt Disney World. The condominium sleeps eight guests, and the resort is fully equipped with restaurants, swimming pools and a golf course.
  • A Wolf River Conservancy Eco Tour for eight, led by WRC-certified River Guides, and a gourmet meal.
  • A boat ride for six and picnic in a tree house in Horseshoe Lake, Ark., featured on the Animal Planet channel’s TREEHOUSE MASTERS. This tree house is complete with functional plumbing and electricity.
  • A day of fishing at Menasha Hunting and Fishing Club in Arkansas
  • Self-improvement opportunities, including “Brain Breaks” for a corporate or volunteer group with an executive trainer who is a former Air Force Captain who flew missions in Afghanistan and was an executive coach in Washington DC. Presentation skills coaching from a ghost writer and another skills coach, who works with a few CEOs around town and also is a former Royal Canadian Mountie, is also included. If you don’t live in Memphis, you would pay minimal transportation costs.

Art of Caring is Baptist Trinity Hospice and the Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief’s signature fundraiser and helps support their programs, many of which are free. If you have any questions, please call Penny Aviotti at 901-227-7125.
