Bridgett Alexander has recently been named director for inpatient nursing at Baptist Golden Triangle. She will oversee the nursing operations of the hospital’s medical/surgical, medical oncology and surgical/pediatrics units; transitional care; trauma care; wound care; administration/house supervisors; float pool; inpatient dialysis; and patient placement departments.
A Baptist team member since 2001, Bridgett has worked in several different nursing roles, including patient care assistant, unit clerk, staff nurse, charge nurse, head nurse and nurse manager before her most recent promotion.
“We are very excited that Bridgett accepted the position of director of inpatient nursing,” said Mary Ellen Sumrall, Baptist Golden Triangle’s chief nursing officer. “She started here in 2001 as a patient care assistant, and she is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when you work hard and develop your leadership skills. She is a proven leader, and I am very excited to have Bridgett’s expertise and talent leading these inpatient nursing departments.”
A Columbus, Miss., native, Bridgett has earned a number of degrees and certifications, including both an associate and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women, an executive Master of Nursing degree from the University of Memphis Loewenberg School of Nursing and a certified nurse manager and leader credential through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
“I am very grateful to God, my family and my friends, and I am honored for this opportunity to serve in this caring ministry,” Bridgett said. “What’s to come is better than what has been…remain faithful.”
