Baptist Golden Triangle team members donated more than 900 non-perishable food items to the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Columbus, Miss., during its second annual Hospital Week canned food drive.
According to director Nancy Guerry, those donations will feed 300 people in April alone.
“There is no better way to show the love and hope of Christ to others. With your donation you have greatly enhanced our ability to share this message,” Nancy said.
The surgery department donated the most items and won a Krispy Kreme donut party.

Early in the week, team members got their blood pumping by competing in the Amazing Baptist DeSoto Races and participating in a workout-a-thon sponsored by the YMCA.
Later in the week, it was hospital leaders’ turn to sweat. Managers rode a stationary bike connected to a blender to make smoothies for their departments. In exchange for their efforts, their teams agreed to complete their HumanaVitality health assessments.
The week ended with a feast, as hospital leadership served team members a hearty meal.
