Karen Ingram, Baptist Women’s Hospital’s human resources director, recently became a Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional, and Kynis Douglas, Baptist DeSoto’s HR manager, recently earned SHRM’s Senior Certified Professional credential.
SHRM regards the two credentials as the new standard in certification for the HR profession.
“SHRM is globally known for setting the standards in the HR world, so obtaining SHRM credentials will further distinguish certified professionals as experts in the HR field and highly valuable within their organizations,” said Ingram.
SHRM’s new credentials demonstrate to the global business community that the credential holder has strong capabilities in both aspects of HR practice—competency and knowledge—that are required for effective job performance.
“Certification has always been important to me as an outward demonstration of my passion for and commitment to the human resources field,” said Douglas. “Attaining SHRM-SCP certification as a part of my personal and professional development represents the continuing global relevancy of the function because it combines the practical application of both the behavioral competencies and functional knowledge necessary to be successful as a human resources practitioner.”
Ingram and Douglas join Dennis Fisher, Baptist Memphis’ HR director; Josh Lowery, Baptist Booneville’s HR director; Vanessa Burns, corporate HR manager; and Holly Turner, Baptist Memphis’ HR manager, in earning one of SHRM’s new credentials.
