BMG physician named president of statewide organization

John W. Hale, Jr., MD, a family medicine physician with Baptist Medical Group-The Doctors’ Clinic in Union City, Tenn., has been installed as president of the Tennessee Medical Association, the state’s largest professional organization for physicians.

As president, Dr. Hale will serve on the TMA board of trustees and will be the public spokesman and official representative for TMA’s more than 8,000 members.

“Our association has done and continues to do a lot of wonderful things for physicians, for the medical profession and for our patients in Tennessee. I hope during my time as president to build upon the legacy we’ve established to strengthen our relationships with lawmakers and regulators, and make sure that physicians and patients understand the important work we do on their behalf. I am proud to be a TMA member and am honored to serve in this role,” said Dr. Hale.

A Halls, Tenn., native, Dr. Hale graduated from East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine and has practiced at the Doctors’ Clinic for 24 years. He is board certified in family medicine and has been an active TMA member for 23 years.
