2015 Spring Quality Symposium focuses on palliative care

This year’s Spring Quality Symposium, titled “Realizing the Full Benefit of Palliative Care,” will offer insight into this branch of medicine and provide CME and CE credit to health care professionals who attend.

The symposium will be held on Friday, May 8 at Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus. The target audience is primary care and specialty physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, case managers, social workers, hospital administration, pharmacists, allied health professionals and pastoral care.

Matthew Stevens, a senior director at the Advisory Board Company, and Jeri Ashley, MSN, RN, AOCNS®, CHPN®, system director of life planning and palliative care services for Baptist, will lead presentations that will cover best practices for developing a palliative care program, the difference between palliative care and hospice, and the status of palliative care within the Baptist system.
