In the spirit of continuous improvement, the Baptist OneCare team is encouraging staff and physicians to submit change requests through the new online request form on the Baptist OneCare SharePoint site.
“Whether we’re inside or outside the corporate office, our job is to be good stewards by making sure everything is getting better,” said Beverly Jordan, Baptist’s vice president and chief clinical transformation officer. “Now that our clinics and hospitals are live on the BOC products, it is time for ongoing, collaborative work to use these tools to improve our overall clinical and financial performance.”
Baptist team members can visit http://epic/staff/SitePages/Home.aspx to submit a request form and as well as track the progress of their request. After users submit their request, they will receive an onscreen message stating that the request has been logged and then later notified of the end result of that request.
Along with individual requests, Baptist OneCare also has regularly scheduled updates from Epic, the software vendor partner. These updates are the result of change requests from other Epic customers around the world.
The success of BOC wouldn’t be possible without the people behind the computer. There are hundreds of “super users” who go above and beyond to help others better understand and use BOC. In addition to the super users, there are also nearly 600 subject-matter experts who work with the BOC team, and operational experts to help make the system better through the structured decision-making process.
“We’re going to continue to listen to the feedback and work with staff and providers in our hospitals and clinics to make the Baptist OneCare system better and stronger,” said Jordan. “Baptist is committed to continuous improvement in all that we do.”
