For the fifth time, Baptist Booneville will sponsor the Northeast Regional Chapter of the Mississippi Oral Health Community Alliance Sealant Day Project.
James Grantham, CEO and administrator of Baptist Booneville, presented Camille Shoffner, dental hygiene instructor and MOHCA chapter president, with the sponsorship check.
“Baptist Booneville is proud to sponsor a program that helps improve oral health in our community,” Grantham said.
MOHCA is a consortium of concerned people who want to protect and promote oral health for all Mississippians. Its mission is to offer a comprehensive approach to improve Mississippians’ oral health by serving as an advocate for optimal oral health; mobilize community partnerships between and among policy makers, state agencies, professionals, organizations, the public and other groups interested in improving oral health; develop plans and policies that improve oral health through a collaborative process; and establish an oral health services infrastructure that assures the protection, promotion and provision of oral health care for all Mississippians.
“There are many other health problems that can arise from poor oral health,” said Grantham. “Hopefully, through projects such as the Sealant Day planned by MOHCA, Baptist Booneville can play a part in improving the oral health in Prentiss County.”
The Sealant Day Project is scheduled for March 26.
