Baptist Union City helps support local wellness programs

Skipper Bondurant, administrator and CEO at Baptist Union City, recently presented a check for $1,000 to Tracy Boucher, chief professional officer for the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Tennessee. The gift will help support the Club’s Triple Play and Little Twister Basketball programs.

Triple Play is a wellness program that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit, and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. A major component of the Triple Play program at the Union City Club is the Little Twister Basketball Program. The league is open to all youth in grades kindergarten through sixth, with games being held every Saturday for eight weeks.

The league has been sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Tennessee for 10 years, and more than 120 boys and girls participate each year. The goals of both programs are to improve Club members’ knowledge of healthy habits; increase the number of hours per day they participate in physical activities; and strengthen their ability to interact positively with others and engage in positive relationships.

“Baptist Union City is pleased to be able to support the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Tennessee, and we value the Club’s efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of the children and youth in our community,” said Bondurant.
