Baptist Women’s Hospital was transformed into a site worthy of princes and princesses for its annual NICU Reunion. Hospital staff welcomed back some of its special former patients, and their families, to celebrate their progress and reunite with the Baptist team members who helped save their lives.
Parents received their “NICU graduates'” handprints, as well as certificates that said how much their children weighed at birth and how big they are now. The kids enjoyed games and pony rides, while physicians and nurses got updates on their progress.
“The event always leaves the staff re-energized for continued work with their tiny patients, knowing how well they do after ‘graduation’ from the NICU when they go home,” said Teresa Bentley, Baptist Women’s Hospital’s NICU nurse manager. “It gives renewed purpose to the work the staff do every year— seeing the great success stories returning to thank their nurses and doctors.”
