The Baptist Health Sciences University held its annual scholarship luncheon in celebration of the 118 students who received academic awards for the 2014-2015 school year. Every year during the event, the students have the opportunity to meet many of the donors who made the scholarships possible.
Jason Little, president and CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care, spoke to the audience of more than 260 that included donors, students, family members, alumni and Baptist team members. Little spoke on the importance of health care education and the opportunity it brings for students to live out their faith in service to others. Jenny Nevels, executive director of the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, spoke about supporting education.
Baptist University students Kendall Kinler and Ian Alexander, recipients of Baptist Memorial Foundation Scholarships, and Lacey Gordon, who received the Ruby Turrell Scholarship, also made remarks during the luncheon.
