Baptist supports event offering $1 million in services to less fortunate

Baptist team members were among the 2,000 volunteers who participated in the Mid-South Convoy of Hope, an event that brought $1 million worth of free food and health services to those who could not otherwise afford them.

As part of its “Measure Up, Pressure Down” initiative, Baptist provided health screenings. Baptist Vice President of Government Affairs Rev. Keith Norman and Baptist Medical Group physician Dr. Anne Sullivan attended to support the effort.

Organizers described the event, which brought together health services, career services, healthy cooking demonstrations and much more, as “teaching a man to fish.” Attendees also received free clothes, groceries and other goods.
