New Albany-area residents now have a new, bigger emergency department to treat patients.
Baptist Union County hosted a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the grand opening of the facility, which has 22 exam rooms, two trauma rooms and two triage rooms. It also offers a decontamination area, two isolation rooms, quick access to imaging, and improved lab and pharmacy delivery systems.
The new ED will allow Baptist Union County team members to better treat the hospital’s rapidly increasing number of patients. During the past four years, the hospital’s ED saw its traffic climb from 16,000 to 24,000 visits annually.
