Fowler Family Center for Cancer Care opens on NEA Baptist campus

NEA Baptist’s new cancer center, named for the family that made the largest single donation in Baptist history, officially opened its doors on June 1 on the new NEA Baptist campus.

The free-standing, 34,000-square-foot Fowler Family Center for Cancer Care offers radiation therapy, chemotherapy, clinical research and supportive services. The only facility of its kind in Northeast Arkansas, it combines all aspects of cancer care under one roof, from diagnostics to chemotherapy treatments to support and educational resources. The center has 22 chemotherapy infusion suites, designed to allow patients to fellowship with one another while retaining personal space; a new HopeCircle program area, prominently featured off the main entrance, with group meeting and private consultation rooms; close patient parking; nature-influenced décor with floral space dividers and sky mosaics in radiation suites; a waiting room with seating for 75; and a private garden for patient enjoyment and private reflection.

Last year, Wallace and Jama Fowler of Jonesboro donated funds to the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation that allowed NEA Baptist to establish the Fowler Family Patient Assistance Endowment. The fund expands and enhances support services for cancer patients and their families.
