Baptist leaders, U of M men’s basketball coach help celebrate Baptist volunteers

Baptist’s metro-Memphis hospitals hosted their annual volunteer luncheon at the Ridgeway Country Club to honor those who give so much, yet ask for so little.

University of Memphis men’s head basketball coach Josh Pastner was the featured speaker for this year’s event, and volunteers had a chance to fellowship with Stephen C. Reynolds, Baptist’s president and CEO, who will be retiring at the end of the month. Jason Little, Baptist’s executive vice president and chief operating officer ‒ who will succeed Reynolds ‒ also was on hand to meet and greet volunteers.

This year’s event honored 136 volunteers who have donated thousands of hours performing jobs that help keep hospitals running smoothly. Nearly half the honored volunteers have worked in the hospitals for at least 1,000 hours.
