Penny Stephens recently was named Baptist Booneville’s Service First champion for caring for more than her patients’ medical needs.
Penny’s nomination included several examples of her kindness. One frequent patient always came to the hospital wearing the same clothing, so Penny bought the patient new clothes. Another time, she bought a birthday cake for a patient who had fallen on hard financial times, just to brighten the patient’s day. She also visits patients on her own time, so they know she’s thinking about them. According to her nomination, she does all these things without drawing attention to herself or her good deeds.
“She is a wonderful representation of the compassion and Service First attitude that Baptist Booneville provides,” her nominator said.
