Baptist Women’s Health Center unveils display honoring breast cancer survivors

The Baptist Women’s Health Center recently held a reception to unveil its Survivors’ Wall of Wisdom, a display featuring the photos and personal mottos of 29 breast cancer survivors. About 100 people attended the event, which was hosted by WMC anchor and breast cancer survivor Pam McKelvy, who is one of the subjects featured on the wall. The project is designed to give hope to women who are facing breast cancer. It was inspired by the Baptist Women’s Hospital’s Gallery of Hope, which displays the photos and stories of former neonatal intensive care unit patients.

Local photographer Marci Lambert donated her time to take all the photographs, Gould’s Salon and Day Spa volunteered to style the survivors’ hair and Sharon Carney-Wright of Mary Kay Cosmetics donated make-up services.
