On Feb. 19, the Rev. Kenneth Robinson, MD, pastor and chief executive of St. Andrew AME Church and former state of Tennessee Commissioner of Health, became the most recent religious leader to be honored as a Baptist Memorial Health Care “Spiritual Treasure” for his contributions to the faith community. Robinson’s message drew a standing ovation from the audience gathered at the H. Edward Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus.
For the past year and a half, Baptist has hosted Spiritual Treasures programs to honor some of the Memphis area’s most prominent faith leaders. A number of clergymen have been recognized, including Rabbi Micah Greenstein, the Rev. Keith Norman and Dr. Steve Gaines. The next Spiritual Treasures event will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Garrett Auditorium and will honor the Rev. Shane Stanford, senior pastor of Christ United Methodist Church. The event is free and open to the public.
