Baptist Cancer Center’s Stem Cell Transplant Program receives FACT accreditation

The Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy awarded accreditation to Baptist Cancer Center’s Stem Cell Transplant Program.

FACT provides a three-year certification for programs that meet the highest standards for quality cancer care and applies to all services and facilities that were inspected by FACT, specifically adult autologous hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation; peripheral blood cellular therapy product collection; and cellular therapy product processing with minimal manipulation.

The stem cell transplant program is located at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.

According to Dr. Furhan Yunus, director of the stem cell transplant program, certification by FACT is a testament to the leading-edge care provided by the program and the overall quality of cancer care available at Baptist.
