Baptist Tipton announces new chief nursing officer

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton has hired Cheryl Berry as its chief nursing officer. Berry came to Baptist Tipton from Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto and will be responsible for managing all of Baptist Tipton’s nursing services.

Berry brings more than 17 years of nursing and case management experience, including more than 14 in management roles. In her most recent position, Berry was responsible for strategic planning and direction for the nursing clinical development department, cardiac rehab, diabetes management, student programs, the clinical nurse residency program and wound care.

“Cheryl’s previous positions have prepared her well to oversee nurse recruitment and managing our nursing staff to meet the needs of our patients,” Jamie Rodgers, administrator and CEO of Baptist Tipton, said.

Berry holds a Master of Science in nursing administration, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Union University, a Bachelor of Science in health science from Alcorn State University and a diploma in nursing from the Baptist Health Sciences University.

Berry has a long list of career accomplishments. She won several awards from the Mississippi Nurses Association, including Nurse Administrator of the Year in 2011. She also received the CNO Visionary Award.
