Baptist helps Salvation Army set one-day donation record

The Salvation Army collected a record-breaking $87,880 on Monday, Dec. 23, thanks in part to Baptist Memorial Health Care and its colleagues and visitors. Red kettles were stationed outside Baptist Memphis and Baptist Women’s Hospital to collect donations, and Baptist agreed to provide a $25,000 matching donation. GCA Services and an anonymous family accepted the challenge and contributed $10,000 and $25,000 respectively. The money will go toward helping area women and children find permanent housing and food.

Earlier last month, Baptist Golden Triangle administrative team members, department directors and managers volunteered to collect Salvation Army Red Kettle donations in front of a local K-Mart for two days. This is an annual community service project for the hospital.
