Baptist Rehab-Germantown wins Press Ganey award, receives maximum accreditation

Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown recently received the Press Ganey 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award for physician engagement. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing hospitals that consistently scored in the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction, employee engagement, physician engagement or clinical quality. According to Press Ganey, only a handful of hospitals nationwide win this award each year.

In addition, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities recently accredited 14 of the hospital’s programs, including rehabilitation hospital for adults, children and adolescents; amputation specialty program for adults, children and adolescents; inpatient and outpatient brain injury specialty program for adults, children and adolescents; inpatient and outpatient stroke specialty for adults; skilled nursing for adults; outpatient medical rehabilitation for adults, children and adolescents; and pediatric specialty program. CARF offers the highest accreditation a rehabilitation hospital can achieve. Health care facilities accredited by CARF must demonstrate that patients served are benefiting from the facilities’ services. To receive a three-year accreditation, organizations must undergo a rigorous peer review and show a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that the organization is committed to following CARF’s accreditation conditions and standards. This is the third consecutive time Baptist Rehab-Germantown earned a three-year CARF accreditation.

“This is a huge achievement for our employees, physicians and the hospital,” said Rebecca DeRousse, assistant administrator at Baptist Rehab-Germantown. “We are proud to have so many of our programs accredited by such a prestigious organization.”

CARF is an independent, not-for profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process centered around enhancing the lives of the people served. Founded in 1966, CARF establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
