Baptist Health Sciences University professor wins award

Baptist Health Sciences University professor Debbie Sweeney won the 2013 John W. Runyan Community Nursing Award, given by the Tennessee Nurses Association.

The award recognizes a practicing nurse who has made significant contributions to the development and promotion of community health nursing.

“This is a well-deserved award that recognizes Debbie for all the community work she has been involved in over the years,” said Betty Sue McGarvey, president of Baptist University. “We are so proud to work with her.”

Sweeney began teaching at Baptist University in 1998 and received the 2004 Distinguished Faculty Award.
