Baptist Golden Triangle colleagues give back on 9/11

Sandy Elliott, RN, nurse manager of the Critical Care Unit at Baptist Golden Triangle, checks the blood pressure of Yvette Jamison of Columbus, Miss., during the annual United Way of Lowndes County 9/11 Day of Service held on Sept. 11. Sandy, along with Brandy Waldrop, RN, nurse manager of the Progressive Care Unit, provided free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings for employees and volunteers for five United Way of Lowndes County agencies as the hospital’s contribution to the Day of Service. The nurses also provided free blood pressure checks to Day of Service participants as they arrived at the Trotter Convention Center downtown for the Day of Service and 2014 United Way Campaign Kick-Off luncheon. The Day of Service pairs volunteers from local businesses and industries with United Way agencies to perform needed projects.
