Next month, Baptist Memphis will pilot a new mass notification system that can contact colleagues on multiple devices within minutes.
The new system, called Baptist Alert, can send emergency and non-emergency messages by text message, e-mail, cell phone and landline phone simultaneously. It will be used for everything from call backs and application downtimes to major weather events like tornadoes. About 70 Baptist Memphis colleagues will undergo training on the new system this month, and it will go live at the hospital on Oct. 7.
A state of Tennessee grant will help pay for the new system, which will be rolled out to other Baptist entities in phases during the next several months.
