Baptist North Mississippi welcomes new chief nursing officer

Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi recently announced that Mark Ottens, MHA, BSN, RN, has joined its leadership team as the hospital’s chief nursing officer.

Ottens will oversee the nursing staff and work with the hospital’s leadership team. He previously worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis since 2007 as the director of the emergency department, critical care and outpatient services.

Ottens received a diploma in nursing from the Baptist School of Nursing (now Baptist Health Sciences University) in Memphis, Tenn., a bachelor of science in nursing from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark. and a master of arts in health science management and administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. He also grated from the Baptist Nursing Leadership Institute in 2010. He was on the board of directors for the Memphis Fire Department Paramedic/Firefighter Training Center.
