Baptist Memphis transplant nurses recognized

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis transplant nurses Amanda Sesti and Susan Bourgeois were recently recognized for excellence in their field.

Sesti was asked to serve as the region’s representative to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network/United Network for Organ Sharing Transplant Coordinators Committee. She will serve on the committee for two years.

Bourgeois recently became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality by the National Association for Healthcare Quality. She is among more than 7,400 active CPHQs nationwide. The certification indicates professional and academic achievement by individuals in health care quality management.

“We are very proud of Amanda and Susan for their continuing education and professional development in their field,” said Becky Hunter, chief nursing officer at Baptist Memphis.

Baptist Memphis has the only adult heart transplant program in Memphis and celebrated the programs’ 25th anniversary in 2010.
