Congratulations to Shelby Carpenter, RN, Women’s Center, for being named a DAISY Award recipient at Baptist Union County! The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is given in appreciation of the work nurses do.
Shelby received several nominations from patients who praised her for her thoughtfulness, compassion and care.
“Shelby has just the right mix of compassion, firmness and humor for the situation,” stated a patient.
Another patient wrote, “Shelby was kind to the whole family and very involved with them.”
“Shelby’s genuine compassion for her patients and their families exemplifies the true meaning of the DAISY Award,” stated Randy White, Chief Nursing Officer.
Nursing administration at Baptist Union County accepts nominations and selects nurses to receive the DAISY Award. At a presentation in front of the nurses, colleagues, physicians, patients, and visitors, the honoree receives a certificate and a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
