School may be out, but the learning continues for 20 teens participating in Baptist’s annual VolunTEEN program. For six weeks, 14 to 17-year-olds will get a first-hand look at health care careers in the hospital.
The Baptist DeSoto VolunTEEN program is a great opportunity for teens to get a real life, behind-the-scenes look at health care. The VolunTEENS will be working in 16 different areas of Baptist DeSoto, including nursing units, the Women’s Pavilion, surgery, rehab, radiology and marketing. The VolunTEENS help with visiting patients and their guests, making deliveries, stocking materials, administrative tasks and a variety of other duties.
VolunTEENS can be easily identified in the hospital by their blue Baptist shirts.
