Pharmacist Kathleen Gafford Selected Baptist Golden Triangle Service First Champion

Pharmacist Kathleen Gafford, who has worked at Baptist Golden Triangle since 2007, knows few boundaries when it comes to patient care. Her selection as Service First Champion during the second quarter surprises no one who knows her, and descriptions of her work resonate strongly throughout the halls.

“As a new employee, I have been most impressed by the care Kathleen takes with each and every patient.”

“Kathleen views each patient as a complete person rather than one specific diagnosis or disease state. She routinely takes calls regarding critical patients/issues during her off time.”

“Her commitment to her patients and coworkers is unmatched.”

Gafford attended Mississippi State University for pre-pharmacy studies and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2006. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis and began her career as a clinical staff pharmacist at Baptist Golden Triangle in 2007. Three years later, she was promoted to clinical pharmacy specialist.

Originally from Olive Branch, Miss., she and her husband live in Starkville, where they are active members of Starkville in Motion. Gafford has also served on the board for the Starkville Central Neighborhood Foundation and will begin serving on the Healthy Starkville Committee this summer.
