Baptist Huntingdon recognizes volunteers for time and service

Baptist honors volunteers around the system who are dedicated to patient care. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, April 21-27, Baptist entities around the system will host special volunteer appreciation events.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Huntingdon hosted an appreciation tea on April 10 in the hospital’s dining room to honor the hospital, hospice and chaplain volunteers.

“We truly appreciate the many hours of service our volunteers continue to provide our patients and their families,” said Susan Breeden, administrator and CEO of Baptist Huntingdon. “They continuously strive to serve others through volunteering within our hospital, hospice program, and through our chaplain program – their acts of kindness do not go unnoticed.”

The hospital volunteers perform many tasks, including working in the hospital gift shop. They also pick up and deliver mail, flowers and magazines to patients. The hospice and chaplain volunteers are continuously available as needed for providing spiritual care to patients and families.
