Jenny Carter, a radiology ultrasound technologist at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, says she tries to live by the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” Luke 6:31.
Carter is known to cover shifts when colleagues are on vacation or need to be off for personal reasons, said Sherry Elmore, director of cardiac services at Baptist Golden Triangle. She was recently named Service First Champion for her willingness to help when needed.
In her nominating letter, Elmore explained how Carter was on her seven days off, but came in to perform a test on a patient in the Emergency Room without any hesitation when she didn’t have to.
“She is a joy to be around and a great role model for all colleagues to follow,” said Elmore.
“I’m very honored to be selected to receive this award among so many qualified candidates. The Service First Award could have been given to so many people that I work with who view their position as so much more than a job,” Carter said.
