Baptist Medical Group, Baptist Memorial Health Care’s multispecialty physician group, recently acquired The Family Physicians Group, a practice established in 1954 with five metro-Memphis locations.
BMG Family Physicians Group treats more than 60,000 unique patients with an average of 10,000 visits per month, making it one of the largest family practice groups in the Mid-South.
Seven physicians joined BMG when the group was acquired¬–Ramune M. Filipcic, MD; Michele Evyan Neal, MD; Jay D. Smith, MD; Michael Wallace, MD; Kenneth Wong, MD; Charles J. Woodall, MD; and Melanie L. Woodall, MD along with an additional 100 colleagues. BMG has recruited an additional four physicians and five nurse practitioners to join the group.
“The Family Physicians Group has provided quality health care in Memphis for almost 60 years. Baptist Medical Group is proud to partner with a practice that demonstrates such a deep commitment to excellence in patient care,” said Jim Boswell, Baptist Medical Group chief executive officer and vice president of physician services for Baptist Memorial Health Care.
“We are quickly developing into one of the Mid-South’s largest and most comprehensive group practices with new partnerships and new ways of providing high-quality health care,” said Boswell. “We are blessed to be able to attract well-respected, established practices like The Family Physicians Group into our BMG family of physicians.”
